Stop re-sorting the same playlist

Add a track, and it moves into place on its own. Playlist Sorter checks your playlists every hour and re-sorts them for you, so your followers always see your newest additions first.

What you get

  • Every playlist you own

No limit. Turn it on for one playlist or fifty.

  • Checked every hour

Add a track from your phone, and it’s in position within the hour without you opening this site.

  • Any sort order

Recently added at the top is the usual choice, but release date, artist, track name and popularity all work the same way.

  • It leaves your playlist alone

Nothing happens unless the playlist has actually changed. No tracks are ever added or removed, and each track’s Date Added is never altered — so you can always re-sort a different way later.

  • Yours to switch off

Pause or remove any playlist from your account page, whenever you like.

Why there’s a charge

I never expected this little side project to reach so many people — we’re approaching 100,000 users. It also means the site outgrew the free tier of my hosting, which is why you may have seen it go down recently. That was the cost, not a bug.

Sorting by hand happens while you wait, so it costs almost nothing to run and stays free forever. Checking playlists around the clock genuinely does cost money, and $1 a month from the people who use that is what keeps the free sorter running for everyone else.

How to join

  1. Become a member on Ko-fi

Membership is handled through Ko-fi, at $1 a month. Use the same email address as your Spotify account — that’s how your membership gets matched to your playlists.

  2. Come back and open a playlist

Your plan activates as soon as the payment comes through, usually within a minute. No code to enter.

  3. Switch on “Keep this playlist sorted”

The toggle sits under the sort options on any playlist you own. Flip it, and that playlist is checked every hour from then on.

Paid with a different email than your Spotify account? Get in touch via the about page and I’ll link it up by hand.

If you stop

Cancel on Ko-fi whenever you like. Your playlists stay exactly as they are — hourly sorting simply stops, your settings are kept in case you come back, and you can still sort by hand as often as you want.
